| Additional Infos | In The BB archives, there are literally dozens of musical
snippets (with titles like "Bag Of Tricks") of the basic musical themes,
recorded in many different styles.
On the Cantina version of H & V it is Gene Gaddy (Barbara Rovell´s husband) who shouted You´re under arrest. As for the "H&V" demo, it wasn't known to exist because it was buried at the end of a tape and wasn't marked on the tape box. Probably the first time it had been heard since it was recorded was when it was uncovered during the preparation of the documentary. Alan Boyd and Andrew Sandoval found the tape. It's a 1/4-inch reel marked "Psychedelic Sound." Of course, that's such an intriguing title that they had to pull it and listen to it. Most of the tape is simply a long conversational thing, similar to the "Smile Party" or Brian's smog harangue. But at the end of that conversation, the tape machine was shut off, then at various intervals it was turned back on to catch bits and pieces of things that were being said and done in the studio. One of the last things on the tape was the "H&V" demo performance. |
