| Additional Infos | I was having a conversation with Brian in 1996 and
he mentioned "Girl Don't Tell Me."... When I was preparing the first issue of Break Away With Brian Wilson, I asked him to elaborate (a lot of things he revealed in "sidebars" in the newsletter came directly out of conversations we had). This is what he said: "I wrote that song while on vacation in Hawaii, without a piano or guitar. And it's the only song I wrote that way. I just did it. When it was done, I went to the piano and-- it was THERE." Was the song written with any particular person or event in mind? "It wasn't about anybody, it was just a song. I think I was copying John Lennon-- " (sings) "'I'm the guy-uy-uy who left you--' It was kind of a tribute to John. Carl and I both liked John a lot." (c 1996 Brian Wilson Productions) Lauri Klobas The song was intended to let it be for the Beatles and one of Brian´s favourite songs. |
